Andrew joined KDP in August 2022 as a senior audit manager and oversees audits for a variety of government and non-profit clients primarily including school districts, cities, other municipal entities and community organizations. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In December 2011, Andrew completed a double major and graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, receiving a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Finance. In 2012, he began working for BKD, LLP (currently, FORVIS) as an audit associate and spent a majority of time working on audits of government and non-profit entities.
Over almost eight years, he was promoted from Associate to Manager level and developed an expertise in performing financial audits, federal and state single audits, drafting financial statements and governmental annual comprehensive financial reports (ACFRs) and assisting clients with implementation of new accounting standards. Andrew’s significant recurring audit clients included City of McKinney, Texas, City of Phoenix, Arizona, City of Phoenix Employee Retirement System, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Good Days Chronic Disease Fund and Hope’s Door.
In July 2020, Andrew joined the City of Irving, Texas, as their Accounting Manager and oversaw a team of seven professionals responsible for accounting, financial reporting, grant management and capital development. He was responsible for over 130 individual governmental, proprietary and fiduciary funds, including a single-employer pension fund. During his two years with the City, Andrew made significant technical improvements to the accounting policies and procedures to simultaneously provide for accurate budgetary and financial reporting not previously held. From a financial reporting perspective, he drafted and issued two ACFRs and popular annual financial reports (PAFRs) all receiving the GFOA Excellence in Financial Reporting awards. As a result, and for the first time ever, the City became a GFOA “Triple Crown Winner,” receiving these awards alongside the Excellence in Budgeting award. Andrew also developed solutions to streamline and increase tax revenues by reducing the workload on his staff.
