Macy Smetzler is a dedicated CPA with a strong foundation in business and accounting. Born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho, Macy developed a competitive spirit through her involvement in sports, including soccer, tennis, and downhill skiing. Her family’s business sparked her interest in the world of business, leading her to discover her passion for accounting and management.
After graduating summa cum laude from Corban University with double emphases in Business Administration and Business Management, Macy continued her education by earning an MBA. She also served as the captain of the women’s soccer team during her time at Corban.
Macy gained valuable experience through internships at local CPA firms and working as a senior accountant after college. She has worked with a diverse range of clients in industries such as real estate, medical, construction, restaurants, crypto, agriculture, and non-profit services to name a few. Her expertise extends to bookkeeping services, tax strategy, tax planning, and preparation of partnerships, corporations and individual taxes.
In 2021, Macy married her husband, Cory and relocated to Medford, Oregon in 2023, to pursue a career at KDP and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle Southern Oregon offers. She achieved a significant milestone in 2022 by obtaining her CPA license and is an active member of the Oregon Society of CPAs, serving on the young professional committee.
With a deep understanding of financial principles and a strong work ethic, Macy brings a valuable asset to KDP. She specializes in tax planning and tax services for individuals, startups, multi-state organizations, medical, and real estate clients. She aims to be a proactive CPA that is future focused and advises clients all year long.
Outside of her career, Macy is a passionate adventurer. She enjoys staying active through running half marathons, hiking with her husband and dog, standup paddle boarding, and exploring new destinations around the world.
